Click on the icons next to Slipper and Zucky to see DNA test results. All Boston Terriers, and until recently pretty well all French Bulldogs carry a gene called DVL2, this is linked to the screw tail, but it has long been thoght to also link to some very nasty conditions as well, this is being studied as I write, also being studied the reason some dogs are never adversly affected by the gene whilst others are crippled. The gene is fixed in Boston Terriers, it cannot be bred out without crossbreeding, I suspect that the fact that the few French Bulldogs now being found to have only one copy were, at some stage crossed, We have finally reached a stage where we feel it is now worth our while to test some of our girls, and we were right, these two, the first we have tested for this gene carry only one copy not the usual two. This means we are on the way to breeding away from a potentially crippling gene !

Jax, Imported in utero, we swapped pups with another breeder for Jax, his nature is very sweet, and quite soft for a Boston.

Im not bothering to put x rays up because people don't understand what they are looking at anyway, but we do do them on our males, not all females are done because most are from our own long established lines, new females we bring in are done though
